DAS is pleased to announce that we have been recognised in the New & Transformed Players category at the inaugural APAC Qorus Reinvention Awards, specifically for the innovation of DAS Portfolio Management.

The awards ceremony, celebrated on 22 November in Bangkok, was launched in 2023 to put the spotlight on Asia Pacific institutions ‒ and the people behind them ‒ that are innovating at scale to shape the future of financial services in the region.

The ‘New and Transformed Players’ category celebrates the creation or application of innovative technology that enhances customer experience or develops new revenue sources for the industry. Start-ups and tech firms working within the banking and insurance industries qualify too.

“We know there is a proliferation of noteworthy innovation happening on the ground in Asia Pacific, and we want to acknowledge and get closer to this cutting-edge work,” said John Berry, CEO at Qorus.

DAS’ was recognised for its application “Portfolio: The new tool to address entire agri-portfolios and rural markets at scale”. As part of the submission, DAS proved the results that have been achieved through the use of Portfolio.

With DAS Portfolio, any insurer with crop or agri-assets in their portfolio can target growth by district or region, comparing "good" to "great" customer types. Customers are geospatially filtered, so identifying and qualifying leads and targets to generate new business and ensure acquisition efforts are aligned with target customer type and profit, shaving hours if not weeks of finding potential customers.

Strengthened Risk Management

DAS Portfolio reduces operational and business risk in a number of ways. Customers have evaluated and optimised their portfolios, including with insight into portfolio level climate and physical risk. They can also leverage insights into agri-specific characteristics like flood, fire and crop productivity risk.

Rebalanced Agri-Insurance Portfolios
Agri-insurers have improved and rebalanced customer mix using DAS Portfolio. Our customers have been able to answer business critical questions about their agri-portfolios with DAS’ data, and digitise their entire underwriting portfolio with fully geo-enabled databases that allow instant overlay of new data layers when it comes to climate events.

DAS clients have said that "[They] can put this data straight into a board or risk report." Portfolio is helping industry leaders stay ahead of global standards like Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures and The Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures, as well as feeding the results of DAS data directly into ESG impact assessments and reporting.
